Website visitors

For website visitors we use only functional cookies to keep WordPress running for. If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. There are a few more functional cookies like that, but they are only used to keep the website login functional for logged in website editors (see below).

We do use anonimysed visitor statistics WP-Statistics. These are GDPR compliant as they are cookieless. In general we recommend blocking cookies in your browser alltogether.

Articles on this site may incidentally include embedded content (e.g. videos). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. But we avoid embedded that sets third party marketing tracking.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Website editors

When you log in as an editor, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Donors and Sponsors

From donors and sponsors we store some extra personal information like name, email or phone number to keep track of donations, thak them and inform donors and sponsors of the progress of our projects.

To keep donors, sponsors and other interested parties posted we use the GDPR-friendly mailing lists from LaPosta. Anyone can at anytime unsubscribe from these mailings.

Project participants

Project participants are presented on this website to be able to present the projects and show the results for fundraising purposes. This includes additional details like name, age, profession and photos. This is done with explicit consent from them. At any time they can request to be removed when the project is finished.

Backups and offline administration

The website is hosted at Greenhost in The Netherlands and regularly backup up in a private cloud.

The FairSpirit foundation keeps track of projects, donors, sponsors and other contacts locally offline for administrative purposes. This local data is regularly backup in a private cloud.

Data removal

You can request to receive a file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
